Dua Lipa (born in London) is an English singer and songwriter who was born on the 22nd of August 1995 in London United Kingdom. She signed a contract with Warner Bros Records after a few years of working and put out a self-titled album in the year 2017. It climbed to the third position on the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released and included Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). It also rose at number 6 in the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British debut act in 2018. The album was rated platinum worldwide. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her parents are of Kosovo Albanian descent. Bosnian descent through her maternal grandmother. Her ancestors also come from Peja, which is a Kosovo town Peja. Lipa's two grandfathers both were historians. Gjin and Rina are her sisters. The father of Lipa, who was a musician and lead singer from the Kosovan group Oda has influenced her in a musical way. When she was at home with her parents, her father would play his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. At the age of nineteen she began singing at Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa sang If I'm Not Gotta You By Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. The contract for her record signed with Warner Bros. Records was made in the year the year 2014. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
